The Ambassador of Nigeria to the Peoples Republic of China, His Excellency. Baba Ahmad Jidda has received five Nigerian journalists led by chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Abuja council, Comrade Paul Ella Abechi in Beijing, China.
The journalists were in China for a 21- day-training organized for senior media managers from nine Africa countries by China International Publishing Group (CIPG).
The countries include, Nigeria, Ghana, Lesotho, South Sudan, Mozambique, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Kenya and Uganda.
Jidda noted that China, Nigeria relations is growing by the day given the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to China and was well received by President Xi Jinping.
He said that the two leaders signed bilateral agreement to further ease entry visa and international investments in Nigeria which is fast yielding result.
One of which is the currency swap deal which was signed by the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele recently in China.
Continuing, Jidda informed that he has received several delegations from Nigeria which includes, Ministers of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, Finance, Kemi Adeosun, Governor of Cross River, Prof. Ben Ayade, Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, and Minister of State for Education who is currently in China to attend the graduation ceremony of 70 Nigerian students studying in different universities in China.
He concluded by saying that he is making great effort to encourage Chinese companies in Nigeria to engage local contractors in their dealing to enhance development of indigenous industries.
Jidda said that the September summit of Forum for China, Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) will be attended by President Buhari informing there are plans for side meetings which will see Buhari interact directly with President Xi to further strengthen the diplomatic ties between the two countries.
