NCPC HOLDS PRAYER CONVOCATION IN JERUSALEM

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) this on Saturday held a prayer convocation on Mount Zion in Jerusalem.

The prayer convocation has become an integral part of the Commission’s pilgrimage programme in which every pilgrim is expected to partake in the prayer programme.

As early as 9 00 hours in Israel, all the different pilgrims group converged on Mount Zion, at the heart of Jerusalem to pray for God’s intervention on every side.

This edition of the prayer convocation was special and unique as it paraded a sizeable number of high profile church leaders as well as four members of the NCPC Board.

The prayer event provided a veritable platform to pray and intercede on sundry critical areas of life.

Prayers were offered for the Nigerian Christian pilgrim commission, the growth of the economy of Nigeria, the success of the forthcoming 2019 general election, the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, the unity of the Nigerian Church, prayer for the women and prayer against absconds during pilgrimage, inter-alia.

In his short exhortation at the prayer meeting, Rev Dr Israel Akanji, a member of NCPC Board, described the journey to Israel as a journey of revelation. His words, ” our prayer is that when we come here we should have an encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ.’. Reading from the book of Luke, chapter 24 verses 25 to 28, which narrated an account of the disciples’ encounter with Jesus after his death and resurrection.

Rev. Akanji assured that the prayers of the pilgrims would be answered in so far as they have brought them to the land of our Saviour.

He prayed for every one that they would walk in testimony and that the garment of praise would certainly replace the garment of despair.

The board members of NCPC who graced this edition of the prayer convocation were Rev. Dr Israel Akanji, Apostle Anthony Fasipe, Amb . Mrs Gladys Quist- Abeyibi and Mrs Nkiru Ejiofor.

In the same vein, the church leaders who participated in the prayer programme were Rev. Dr Dachollom Datiri, president church of Christ in Nigeria, Rev.Dr Steven Dangana, Bishop Jonas Katung, Pastor Samuel Alaha, among others.
