The Executive Secretary of Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev. Yakubu Pam has said that he would work with the Northern Governors to establish Pilgrims Welfare Boards in some part of the north, because must northern state have no constitutional Board for Christian Pilgrims. He disclosed this while receiving Northern Christians Association of Nigeria, CAN in his office, recently.
Rev. Pam explained that if more Boards are opened it would serve as an avenue for noble men and women to work in keeping the Christendom together, and make good plans to move the nation forward.
He appreciated the Northern CAN for coming to facilitate with him. His words: “Your coming here gives me confident that I did well and we are moving as a family”. He added, “I believe this office is not given to Rev Yakubu Pam , it is given to the Northern CAN, I assure you I will not fail”.
NCPC Boss further assured them that he would give his best to ensure that his administration is one of the best. According to him, “I will not fail, I will do my best to ensure that I leave a record that in the future they will look for somebody else in CAN to take over from me”, adding that “good name is better than riches”.
He informed them that their coming is a lesson to the management and staff of NCPC, he would ensure that NCPC lives as a family.
Earlier, the Vice Chairman of Northern CAN, Rev. J. J. Hayab Felicitated with the Executive Secretary on his appointment, in his words, “we have come to congratulate you and tell God how grateful we are that he made it possible for you”.
He assured the NCPC Boss that Northern CAN would support him, According to him, “we want to remind you that as a church we will stand by you to support you and give you everything that will make you succeed”.
The Vice Chairman of Northern CAN charged the Executive Secretary to ensure that he makes NCPC a one big Family. In his words, “make this place a family, unite the people, build a home and family house that people will come and pray”.
He said that the Executive Secretary is coming at a delicate time when there is tension and insecurity in the country and he knows that God would use him to restore hope and peace back to the people.
