NCPC Boss Honoured With Distinguished Peace Ambassador Award

The Executive Secretary Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam has been honoured with a distinguished Peace Ambassador award by the management of Citizen FM, Abuja.

The NCPC helmsman while receiving the formal letter of the award by the Chief Operating Officer of Citizen FM, Mr Salmon Salami in his office in Abuja, on Friday, 29th September, 2023, said he was highly elated for the honour bestowed on him by the management of Citizen FM, stating that he was not doing the peace work for self recognition but for the growth of the country.

This was contained in a statement by Celestine Toruka, Deputy Director and Head Media and Public Relations and made available to journalists in Abuja.

He stressed the need to continue to promote peace and encourage peaceful co-existence and good governance in such a way that the effects would be felt by the people even at the grassroot.

In his words,” Citizen FM is doing this to encourage me and others, I really appreciate you”. He added,” your station is very unique, it has genuine footpaths that will help this country “.

He affirmed that in the course of time the FM station would be able reap the dividends of their efforts.

The NCPC boss called on Nigerians to continue to live in peace because without peace life would be meaningless.

Earlier, the Chief Operating Officer of Citizen FM, Mr Salmon Salami described the NCPC boss as a man widely acknowledged, imbued with integrity and with innate passion to serve God.

He further admitted that Rev Pam is “a man who believes that public service is a public trust”.

The COO explained that Citizen FM as a media platform does not go out of its way to honour people, rather,” we make sure that the awardees are verified and cleared by the Department of State Service.

He disclosed that the station had designed a programme known as peace maker which serves as a veritable platform to promote peace in the country, because according to him,”without peace there would be no meaningful development.

Mr Salami reiterated that the Station had continued to identify with few rare Nigerians who are promoting peace such as Rev Pam whose award is worthy and well deserved.

He hinted that the proper presentation of the distinguished Peace Ambassador award to the NCPC boss would hold on 2nd November 2023 at NICON Luxury , Abuja. He further stated that aside Rev Pam, other awardees include the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, IGP Solomon Arase Rtd , amongst others.
