More than 300 statutory delegates, Students and observers are expected to take part in the National convention of the National Association of Nigerian Students NANS, which opens in Abuja today.
A statement by the media and publicity committee, of the NANS Convention Planning Committee, stated that the convention will deliberate on the State of Campuses, State of the Nation and issues of unity in the Students’ movement.
“In addition, we have guests that are invited from within and outside the country and about 5000 Students, will be present at the opening ceremony,’’ the statement said.
The Committee was optimistic that after the convention, the NANS would be able to play active roles in promoting the ideals and goals expected of students in the country.
High point of the convention, will be the election of new national officers for the NANS, who are expected to run the affairs of the organisation for the next one year.
