Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, has said the wedding ceremony of Mr Maurice Jedy Agba, son of the minister of state Power from Cross River State and Miss Genesis from Gombe State is a clear testimony of the fact that Nigeria is one and indivisible country.
Agabi who chaired the proceedings at the wedding reception in Abuja Saturday, attended by state governors, members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), Senators, members of parliament at federal and state, clergy men and traditional rulers, said the ceremony was a litmus test to show that the Housa Fulani can indeed marry the Yoruba, while the Ibos can as well get married to any other tribe in Nigeria.
According to press statement by the special assistant on media to the minister, Mr Ofem Uket, Agabi expressed heart warm joy witnessing a marriage between a man from Cross River and a lady from Gombe State.
He said, Nigeria and Nigerians must set aside ethnic and religious affiliation and see each other as one, if meaningful progress must be made.
The Father of the groom, Goddy Jedy Agba used the occasion to admonish the couple to see themselves as one indivisible family that has come together to foster peace and unity amongst Nigerians not minding your colour, language, religion and geography.
