Ahead of the chairmanship tussle for Yala Local Government Area in Cross River State, a group in the local government, Movement for Good Governance Yala (MGGY), has thrown its weight behind an Aspirant of the people Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Declan Ogar Genesis.
The president of the group, Mr Oko Thomas, while addressing members of the group during a meeting held recently in Owanikande, emphasised on the major aim of the group.
He said, “This is a group we have formed to better the course of our community and we residents. Based on this reason, we have agreed to always come together once in a week to express our needs and make sure they are being met. And, of course, we know who is capable of doing this for us.”
Mr Thomas , also noted that it is the notion of every Nigerian that politicians are not trustworthy and faithful, “but few of them are still faithful to their promises to better the lives of the citizens, and one of those is “Declan Ogar Genesis”
He stressed further that Declan has indicated his interest in assisting the youths of the council, if elected.
We know he is going to do more. We can support him,” he added.
Thomas enjoined members, who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) to do so and support Declan in the time of election.
