…Pledges N2m as Yala students trust fund

The founder and CEO of Opal Group, notable Cross River State critical stakeholder and reputable political stalwart of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), High Chief Higgins Peters has pledged an annual sum of N2 million as Students Trust Fund to cater for the school needs of students of Yala Local Government Area.
High Chief Higgins Peters, who is a prominent and highly respected leader in Yala LGA and Cross River North stated this on Tuesday day, June 6, 2023, when Comrade Ujor Ernest Ogar-led Exco members of the Yala Local Government Students Worldwide (NAYLOGS-WW) paid him a courtesy visit and honoured him with an award of honour.
He was honoured by the Yala LGA Students body in recognition of his outstanding contribution towards the development of Yala LGA and growth of the association.
Expressing his appreciation for the honour, High Chief Higgins Peters thanked the NAYLOGS-WW leaders for giving honour to whom honour is due and assured the students of his commitment towards their welfare.
He noted that he would be committing an initial N2 million as Students Trust Fund, which according to hil will address school fees, accommodation and other education needs of Yala students, and will be properly handled by the High Chief Higgins Peters Foundation, which will be set up soon.
He also prayed for the leadership of NAYLOGS-WW and the entire Yala students to continue to grow in leaps and bounds as well as experience great academic excellence and success in their life’s pursuit.
Present during the investiture was the newly sworn-in Cross River State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey and other aides of High Chief Higgins Peters.
The President of NAYLOGS-WW who did the presentation was in company of his Vice President Miss Grace Odey and another member of the students body.
