….assures support to sustain legacy
A Frontline support group, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, BAT Advocates, Cross River State Chapter, Saturday, hailed a former federal lawmaker representing Obudu, Bekwarra, Obanliku Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Legor Idagbo, over undaunted commitment and passion for empowerment, development and peace in his constituency and Nigeria as a whole.
The Director General, Comrade Raphael Odu made the commendation during a chat with journalists while appraising the humour, humility and humanity in Hon Idagbo as a grassroots politician of high repute including uncommon sportsmanship he had displayed in his political career.
Comrade Odu said Rt. Hon Idagbo as grand patron of the BAT Advocates, Cross River State Chapter has been a major pillar of support in moving the Organisation forward in all its ramifications. He recalled Rt Hon Legor’s laudable gesture at the recent Bekwarra New Yam (Ipem Ihihe) Festival, where he empowered constituents with cars, motorcycles, sewing machines, cash donations amongst others.
He noted that, Rt Hon Legor has continued to display uncommon leadership and love for his people despite his recent defeat at the 2023 general election by putting smiles on the faces of his people, which has made him a rallying point and a distinguished political leader to be reckoned with in Bekwarra LGA, Cross River North and Cross River State as well as Nigeria at large.
He said: “Over the years, Rt. Hon Legor Idagbo’s passion and love for his people have been sustained even though he is not at the National Assembly as Honourable Member.
“The former federal lawmaker recently did amazingly by strongly supporting the recent New Yam Festival, where he doled out cash and materials including sponsoring the star prize of the outstanding farmers both in the male and female categories as christened ‘King and Queen’s, that went home with a motorcycle and sewing machine respectively.”
Meanwhile, he assured that the group will sustain the legacies of Hon Idagbo.
“The legacies of Rt Hon Idagbo will be sustained and we called on him to do more for his people and country as he has continued doing without being forced”, he added.
He also called on other leaders in the district and state to emulate Rt Hon Legor Idagbo, whose rare gestures has endeared him to many, and raised the hope of the people.
