A social political group, South South Solidarity Group on Tuesday congratulated Dr Godswill Obot Akpabio CON on his emergence as Newly elected and sworn-in President of the 10th Senate, saying his victory is a call to duty.
The group also congratulates the newly sworn-in Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau, who was elected unopposed during the inauguration of the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This was contained in a congratulatory message by the Convener, Comrade Peter Ikpen Ilefa on behalf of the leaders and members of the group.
The message reads, “Your Excellency, it has been a long and arduous journey, from your days in the Telecommunications industry, Your moments as Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State, Your glorious days of uncommon strides as Governor of Akwa Ibom State, the Senatorial bid and victory, uncommon minister of the federal republic of Nigeria, the resurgence of progressive tendency in South-South Nigeria, consolidation of progressive influence in Nigeria and now the Senate Presidency.
“You deserve every commendation as we equally give glory to God for His mercy, benevolence and guidance.
“This victory is a call to duty. It is our wish that with this victory comes the consolidation of the purposeful leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR with impactful legislative outing to compliment the hopeful massive infrastructure development and progressive policies of the new administration. Also deepening of the democratic process, advancement of social democracy, promotion of party discipline and guaranteeing of better life for all Nigeria through quality Representation and Legislation.
