Cross River State Governor, Prof Ben Ayade and former minister of justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN) will be among top dignitaries who will attend Senator Rose Oko’s Empowerment Programme slated for July 20, 2018 at Ogoja Stadium, Ogoja Local Government Area.
Sen Oko stated this on Tuesday during a planning meeting to fine tune arrangements for the empowerment programme. She is representing Northern Senatorial district of Cross River State in the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly and is currently, chairman, Senate Committee on Diaspora and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO).
The occasion will be chaired by Chief Agabi, while the digital Governor of the state, Prof Ayade will double as the chief host and special guest of honour.
Oko is also host of the empowerment programme targeted to add more value on the lives of her constituents in the senatorial district. The people have also enjoyed her quality representation after she was massively elected and given the mandate in 2015.
Other major stakeholders, leaders of thought, party stalwarts, traditional leaders, heads of agencies, beneficiaries and teeming supporters as well as friends of the Northern Senatorial District are expected to attend the empowerment programme.
Empowerment items include, 5 Jeeps, 7 Peugeot (307), 1 Toyota Sienna bus, 54 motorcycles, 27 tricycles, 12 sewing machines, 47 grinding machines, 9 generators, 800 bags of fertilizers, grants of N20,000 to 122 constituents.
Others include, cottage Industry items such as 3 rice mill thresher (mobile), 1 rice mill and powder crusher, 1 groundnut shelled machine, 1 groundnut oil mill with Diesel engine and 4 corn mill machine.
According to Oko it was in fulfillment of the covenant she made with the constituents, the people of Northern Cross River State.
She said: “This is in further fulfillment of the covenant that I made with my constituents, the people of Northern Cross River State.”
