…Remanded in Afokang Correctional Centre
The Cross River State Magistrate Court on Thursday ordered that Mrs Lucy Obono be remanded at the Afokang Correctional Centre in Calabar pending the completion of her trial.
Mrs. Obono is accused of felony and attempted murder. In 5 count charge sheet available to the press, Mrs. Obono, an orange seller along IBB way stabbed officials of the Cross River Pollution Control Agency with a kitchen knife on the 6th of September 2022.
The Director General of the Cross River Pollution Control Agency, Barr. Tony Adinye had earlier addressed the press on the issue. Barr. Adinye, a victim of the assault assured that it will be addressed within the ambits of the law. While stating that himself and 4 others were attacked by Mrs. Obono
The presiding Magistrate adjourned the case to the 2nd of December 2022.
