A seasoned Cross River lawmaker and a senator representing Cross River central senatorial district in the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly, Senator John Owan Enoh, on Saturday defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)
The senator, who is a former member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the chairman, Senate committee on finance.
It was gathered that the senator might have taken the bold step of dumping his former party, the PDP to enable him position himself for the Cross River State governorship tussle in 2019.
Though he is yet to declare his intentions, close watchers believe that the grassroots senator will soon begin to consult on how to unset the PDP, who have been in power in the state since 1999.
The defection of the senator, which has been in the news penultimate week, took place the party ward and was witnessed by party stalwarts and his teeming supporters.
