Members of the Elites Community Initiative Corps of Nigeria have passed a vote of confidence on their commandant and chairman, Mr Opara Benard.
This was made known in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP and signed by members of the association’s Board of Trustees (BOT) and other members of the group at a meeting held in Abuja yesterday.
The move, according to the statement, was in response to earlier publications made, after a meeting held by some members, in some of the national dailies that Mr Benard O. had been removed as the commandant and chairman of the association.
“It is worthy of note that the illegal and secret meeting convened without the approval, knowledge and consent of the secretary was unconstitutional, aimed at sabotaging the the noble activities of the association under the constitutional leadership of Mr Opara Benard whom they claimed to have removed. We hereby resolve to pass a vote of confidence Mr Opara Benard O. as the Chairman/Commandant General of the Association of Elites Community Initiative (Corps) based on his good leadership qualities and commitment to moving the association forward,” the statement reads in part.
The document was signed by Mr Opara Benard as Chairman, Engr Fidelis Onyenechehe as the secretary, BOT, Mr Adah Innocent as Vice-chairman, Joel John as PRO among other mebers.
Elites Community Initiative Corps of Nigeria is a non- governmental organization registered with the Corperate Affairs Commission (CAC) and inaugurated on the 16th December, 2010 with headquarters in Abuja whose mandates were to foster unity & tranquility in communities; Counsel youths to re-discover their hidden potentials & progress on it among others.
