The Cross River State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq JP, has congratulated Governor Prince Bassey Otu on his victory at the Appeal Court on Wednesday.
Welcoming the appellate court’s verdict as a healthy development, Eba said in a statement circulated by his Media wing, the plugmedia, that democracy has come to stay.
He commended the panel of the Appellate Court for the right judgement, adding that the judgement of the court was a victory for democracy and a reaffirmation of the responsibility of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to act as an unbiased umpire.
“I welcome the judgement of the Court of Appeal on the Governorship Election Petition with immense joy and appreciation to the judiciary for doing justice on the matter.
“I must commend the courage and sagacity exhibited by the panel of the Appeal Court, which ruled that the petitioners failed to prove their allegation and substantial non-compliance.
“On behalf of my family,Political associates and the entire members of Cross River State All Progressives Congress, I congratulate My Governor on this reassuring victory.
“This victory is coming at a time when Cross Riverian have embraced the ‘People First Agenda’ of the Governor which they rightly voted for.
