As part of this year’s Yache Cultural Celebration across the six clans of Yache, Distinguished Senator Stephen Odey Ph D has been conferred with the highest chieftaincy title as Oyorgu 1 of Yache Land.
The traditional rulers also conferred his wife with a chieftaincy title as Senator Odey was celebrated with the highest award of honour by the Yache nation. Today could be described as a remarkable day of honour for Senator Odey and his dear wife, Mrs Monica Odey in appreciation of their immeasurable contributions towards the growth and development of Yache nation.
Sen Odey, who is Executive Chairman of Cross River State Universal Basic Education (CR-SUBEB) and in company of his wife, Mrs Monica Odey, was decorated with the chieftaincy title in honour of his philanthropy, humanitarian gestures, development drive and as a worthy son of Yache nation.
The investiture which was done by the clan head of of Yache Land, Chief Damian Ododo of Wornye, in the presence of other traditional rulers was witnessed by sons and daughters of Yache nation and guests at the country home of Sen Odey in Uchu Yache.
It would be recalled that Senator Odey was previously given a chieftaincy title as Onyonyua 1 of Yache (light).
The honour by the traditional rulers to their illustrious son has been described as a well deserved honour.
