CRUTECH Alumni Sets Up Transition Committee, Appoints Ayade’s Special Adviser Chairman

The Cross River University Technology (CRUTECH) Alumni Association has set up a twelve-man Transition Committee to be Chaired by Comrade Castro Ezama, Special Adviser on Education to Governor Ben Ayade.

National President of the Association, Comrade Eyam Abeng announced the composition of the committee yesterday, at the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) which held at Transcorp Hotels, Calabar.

Other members of the committee includes, Pastor Eno Clement, Alternate CHAIRMAN, Dr. Ukam Ngwu, Esq., Secretary, Mrs. Betty Nji, Angela Oko, Abang Ogon, Romanus Abua, Mefiok Umana and former National Association of Nigerian Students, Engr. Jerome Egbe as members.

Pioneer President of the Association, Dr. David Mbotor, Secretary of the University’s Postgraduate School, Ntufam Barr. Victor Ndifon as well as a retired Superintendent of Police, Mr. Ibiang Iwara were also appointed Advisers of the committee.

The committee is saddled with the responsibility of amending the association ‘s constitution to change the name from CRUTECH Alumni to University of Cross River state (UNICROSS) Alumni Association in line with the recent change of name of the University, tenure of office, Composition of National Executive Council (NEC), Board of Trustees (BOT), State Executive Council (SEC), Internal conflict resolution mechanisms and Alumni Rep in Council.

The Ezama led committee upon completion of the amendment is to also update the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) with the amendment clauses after which, they will organize election for the association.

Other tasks include seeing to the resolution of the lingering issues in the association, identify areas of intervention like provision of security van for the school, etc.

The Committee has three (3) Months to complete its assignment.
