The General Manager, Cross River State Waste Management Agency and the leader Okuku Ward, Yala Local Government Area, Hon Oko Sunday Ebeku (aka Otolo) has mourned the death of the late Senator Dr Mrs Rose Okoji Oko describing her as a party faithful and an exemplary political leader.
Sir Otolo, who said he was saddened and pained with the sudden news of the death of the Senator, recalled with nostalgia one of his outing with her before the 2019 governorship election in the state, when she visited the ward and charged members of the party to be vigilant and vote massively for Governor Ben Ayade and the PDP state Assembly member.
Before her death on Monday, March 23, 2020, Distinguished Senator Rose Oko was a serving second term Senator representing the good people of Cross River North (PDP) and the chairman, Senate Committee on Trade and Investment. She was aged 63.
Sir Otolo also recalled his several meetings with the late female lawmaker, which were geared towards her passion and vision for her constitents.
He said, “Senator Rose Oko was a cheerful woman. A true and an exemplary political leader, who I always run to for advise and guidance.
Hon Otolo
“I admire her towering profile and laudable achievements as an administrator, a lecturer, lawmaker, astute politician and leader. She always tell me she is not a politician because of her principled and disciplined lifestyle, which endeared her to me. She is indeed a woman of grace and grit.
“Okuku Ward will miss her. Yala have lost a great daughter and mother and Cross River and Nigeria as a whole have lost a rare gem.
“May the good Lord give her immediate children and all of us the fortitude to bear this great loss.”
