The Cross River State Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq (JP) on Saturday represented the State Governor, His Excellency, Sen Prince Bassey Otu as the great people of Mbube in Ogoja Local Government Area honours their own son, the Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Rt Hon Peter Odey in a grand reception.
As part of activities of the grand reception, the foremost Political Evangelist, Eba, on behalf of the Governor , performed the official cutting of the ribbon to commission a Skill Acquisition Centre at Idum Mbube.
While appreciating the initiator for conceptualising the the ideas of such a skill Acquisition Centre geared toward empowering the people, he noted that it is in line with the People First Agenda of the Otu-led administration and the will will be used as an incubating centre for the empowerment of the people of Mbube nation.
The skill acquisition centre which was donated by Chief (Engr) David Abang, a retired staff of NNPC and founder of Rural Africa Industrial Skills and Empowerment (RAISE) Foundation, will help in the needed training and development of sons and daughters of Mbube to unlock their inherent potentials and improve their livelihood.
Also commissioning the Centre, the Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Peter Odey supported the effective take off with N5 million, and commended the initiative.
The event was attended by illustrious sons and daughters of Mbube nation, serving commissioners, political stakeholders, traditional rulers and other notable personalities as invited guests.
