The Cross River State Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq, JP joined other leaders and notable personalities during the Thanksgiving Service and Child Dedication in honour of Distinguished Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr in Calabar, yesterday.
Senator Ekpenyong Jnr is the Senator, representing Cross River South in the red chamber of the National Assembly in Abuja.
The Thanksgiving Service which was held at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Duke Town Cathedral, Calabar South, has in attendance the State Governor, Sen Prince Bassey Otu, his deputy, Rt Hon Peter Odey. Similarly, the well attended event attracted over 50 Senators including the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, Senate Majority leader, and the Senate Chief Whip amongst others.
Also in attendance include over 25 members of the House of Representatives, serving federal Ministers, Commissioners and other top government officials, notable party stalwarts and stakeholders.
Shortly after the Thanksgiving Service and Child Dedication, the dignitaries were hosted in an elaborate reception at the Calabar International Conference Center (CICC), where goodwill messages were delivered by the various dignitaries.
The State Chairman and foremost Political Evangelist, who expressed excitement and joy for a day like this to thank God in honour of Distinguished Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr, said “To God be all the glory and Him alone is worthy of the praise”.
According to him, “What we are seeing here today is the result of putting your best forward and according to Proverbs, seeth thou a man diligent in his business, he will stand before kings, dine with kings and not with mean men.”
“Indeed my dear brother and friend, Distinguished Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr has distinguished himself since his inauguration as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He has shown capacity, deep intellectual content, competence and the character worthy of honour. You won’t even believe he is a first timer in the red chamber.
“No wonder kings, the high and mighty, highly respected personalities, captains of industry are here to honour him. He has made us all proud. And as a party we will continue to support him to succeed. I urge him to keep up the good work as our worthy ambassador and star Senator for the good of Cross River State and Cross River State as a whole,” he stated.
