Following the emergence of Barr Fabian Ogbeche as the concensus candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Yala Local Government in Cross River State, one of the frontline aspirants for the party’s Chairmanship ticket, Mr Christopher Ogar, on Thursday congratulated the winner.
Mr Ogar who accepted the decision of the party in a congratulatory message dated January 30 and addressed to Barr Fabian, called on party leaders, stakeholders and fellow aspirants to unity. Noting that party is supreme, he urged all to work for the victory of the party at the March 28 Local government elections.
Barr Fabian emerged as the party’s consensus Chairmanship candidate along with 14 others as councilorship flag bearers of the party after an affirmative congress held on Thursday in Yala.
He said, “I write to formally congratulate you on behalf of our team on your emergence as the flag bearer of our great party “PDP” on the forthcoming March 28 Local Government Elections. Indeed we have accepted the validation of your victory in the consensus nomination to mean that power comes from God, not man.
“We therefore urge you at this moment to see this opportunity as an avenue to reunite the party, inject your youthful strength into the leadership process of the local government and ensure that the party remains in unity and emerge victorious come March 28, 2020.
“I want to also congratulate His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade for giving the youth the opportunity to come into the stream of leadership which has produced your emergence as our flag bearer and the chairman of the second largest local government in Cross River State by God’s grace. We assure His Excellency of continuous support to his Administration and our Great party.”
He added that Let me also use this opportunity to plead with our fellow aspirants to look beyond this position, it is a win for all and not personal. “Party is supreme”.
“May I also congratulate our great leaders and stakeholders of Yala as well as my fellow aspirants, I thank you all for your bravery, wisdom and advice to ensuring peace before, during and after this process.”
