C’RIVER GOVT COLLABORATES WITH FG, SET TO BENEFIT FROM CHINA’S SMARTER LEARNING PROGRAMME

Cross River State Government has collaborated with the Federal Ministry of Finance towards attracting equipment for Smarter Learning Programme across the state sponsored by China Government.

The government China in collaboration with Huawei Smart Education Solution – One Nation, One Education Cloud Under the umbrella of the leading global provider of ICT infrastructure and smart devices has seized the opportunity to support the Cross River State initiative after meeting with the State’s Ministry for International Development and Cooperation for the improvements of digital literacy among youths and within the state’s educational system.

The leader of the delegation Mr. Yawei Cheng (Kyle) stated that, ICT developing, promotes educational transformation and that, Huawei Smart Education Solution is a fully integrated learning platforms that empowers teachers to deliver an interactive learning environment to student.

He emphasized that, this partnership and cooperation with Cross River State government will help develop the necessary skills for the 21st century, while preparing children in the state for the actualization of a “Smart Society”.

He said, “Our vision and mission is to bring digital to every person, home and organization for a fully connected, intelligent world.”

In her response, the Honourable Commissioner for International Development and Cooperation, Dr. Mrs Inyang Asibong, thanked the Chinese Government and Huawei representatives after a long deliberation/meeting for accepting Cross River State for partnership in the area of Smart Learning Solution.

She said, “In Cross River State, we have a Digital Governor Sir Sen. Prof Ben Ayade, who is digitalizing every sector in our friendly and hospitable state. Education has been one of his top most priority which led him in creating a separate Ministry for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

“As you have chosen to align with the Governor’s readiness for solution architecture for Smart Education from unequal education resources in remote area to equal education, insufficient learning resources only from books to abundant learning resources, too much paper work for administrators and teachers to high efficient management work and obsolete/non-functional ICT infrastructure to ICT classroom up-gradation.”

Under the Smart Education Project, the Director, International Economic Relations Federal Ministry of Finance, Mr Fidel Odey assured the Chinese and Huawei team of the Ministry’s readiness to support Cross River State under the Leadership of Sir Ben Ayade.

He added that, it will increase access to more and better educational resources, improved student-teacher ratio, improve the level of ICT in Cross River State and promote technological compliance in the state’s education sector, better research opportunities and access to quality teachers across communities.
