…FINES PDP FOR WASTING TIME OF COURT
The High Court sitting in Calabar on Friday, March 18, 2022 struck out a case instituted by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against Cross River State Governor, Sir Ben Ayade, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in suit No HC/338/2021.
The case which bothered on the party Secretariat situated at the Murtala Mohammed Highway Calabar was struck out by Justice Franca Isoni of High Court 4 following the withdrawal of the suit by PDP lawyers based on preliminary objection of the defendants.
The lawyer of Governor Ayade and APC, EOE Ekong (SAN) of Efiom Ekong & Co, prayed the court to fine the PDP for wasting the time of the court. Granting the prayers of the counsel to the defendants, the judge fined PDP N10,000 and struck out the case.
