Cooperatives More Lucrative Than Cultism, Chief Santus Tells Youths

As part of ways to steam the tide of cultism and drug addiction ravaging the lives of youths, the founder and CEO of Santuscom Agro Hub, Chief Paul Santus Ofana has urged youths to embrace the idea of cooperatives, saying it is more lucrative than cultism.

Chief Santus, stated this on Saturday, while delivering his speech as guest speaker titled “Agriculture Value Chain” at the first Yala Economic Summit in Okuku, Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The Yala Economic Summit was organized by Project 1000, a solution driven citizenship forum comprising Yala urban professional youths. The summit was held at the auditorium of the Cross River State University of Technology (CRUTECH) Okuku Campus.

According to him, the youths should take advantage of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Anchor Borrowers Scheme and form a cooperative as a wealth creation forum to enable them benefit and harness the potentials inherent in the agriculture value chain.

He urged youths to disabuse their minds from the social vices common with youths in the society, which according to him is destroying the self worth of the youths and create a new path that will contribute to the of development the youth.

He said, this will help reorientation the minds of the youths and empower them towards a healthier society.
