Vigilant Residents of Ijede road in Ikorodu local government area of Lagos State, this morning busted a group of political thugs, at an hideout in the Ijede area of Lagos State, where they were met, thumb printing ballot papers for tomorrow’s National Assembly and Presidential elections, in favor of the APC.
The vigilant residents, mostly youth, working on a tip off said they met about 20 political thugs of the APC, thumb printing ballot papers and preparing form EC8 forms in anticipation of rigging the Saturday’s election.
While some of the culprits were unable to escape being apprehended, others who attempted to escape with a Toyota Sienna branded with the logo of the APC, were given a hot chase, which eventually led to a fatal accident which claimed the lives of some members of the APC rigging team.
A resident who witnessed the incidence said “We saw these boys coming into the building since yesterday night and they never departed till many of us went to bed, we thereafter planned to storm the place early this morning, thinking they were ordinary thugs who came to unleash violence, only for us to catcht them red-handed thumb printing and filling out the result forms,” he said.
The residents further said they have earlier been hinted of plans by the APC to deny voters access to the polling stations tomorrow, as they vowed to resist and ensure that every vote count.
