In a bid to boost the employment drive of the administration and harness its vast economic potentials, Cross River State government ably led by the digital governor, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, has awarded contracts worth millions of Naira for the setting up of cottage industries across the 18 local government areas in the state.
Also awarded is contract for the construction and provision of world standard equipment for the Ayade Care Referral Hospitals in each of the local government areas beginning with two in each of the three senatorial district in the first phase.
The contracts were awarded during the state’s executive council meeting in Calabar, the state capital.
The director-general, Cross River State Due Process and Price Intelligence Bureau, Barr Alphonsus Ogar Eba, who spoke on the development, said the Ayade Care Referral Hospitals project, is geared towards addressing the health challenges of the people of the state.
According to him, the Ayade Care Referral Hospitals is being executed under a Private Public Partnership (PPP) arrangement with Clinotech Group based in Canada and GE with funding from Union Bank.
Speaking further in the significance of the Ayade Care Referral Hospitals, Barr Eba said, “With only N1000 a month, citizens of the state are entitled to free medical care.”
