…says the event has grown in leaps and bounds

The immediate past Member Representing Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku Federal Constituency of Cross River State in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Legor Idagbo attended the Ipem Ihihe Bekwarra New Yam Cultural Festival at the weekend which took place at the St. Christopher’s School in Bekwarra where he called for sponsorship of the annual event by corporate organisations.
Hon Legor who stated this while delivering his speech stated that the festival which he initiated as council chairman has grown in leaps and bounds over the years.
He stated that the Festival was to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Bekwarra to the world and the idea is to invite friends from around the world to come join and celebrate with the Bekwarra people.
He commended the organising committee chaired by Engr. Mkpe Emmanuel for a great job in organising the Bekwarra Cultural Festival successfully for a second year. He congratulate everyone that took part in the various competitions and those who performed concluding that the festival has created a platform to showcase talents.
His call for corporate sponsorship will help the festival to become bigger and showcase the Bekwarra culture to the world adding that corporate organisations can sponsor the festival as a form of their corporate social responsibility for the Local Government Area and the State. He thanked everyone for coming to attend the festival from far and near.

Signor Omang Idiege Ada Bekwarra II, the Paramount Ruler of Bekwarra HRM Ogbeche Linus Odey, the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Mike Odere, the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Erasmus Ekpang, Member Representing Yakurr State Constituency Hon. Cyril Omini and many others.
