Aviation Minister Pledges Support For NCPC

The minister of state for aviation, Senator Habi Sirika, has promised to support the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) to enable it achieve its statutory objectives. He disclosed this in Abuja while playing host to the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Rev. Tor Uja. His words: “I will work with NCPC to enable it achieve its objectives”.

He promised to do everything necessary to facilitate and improve airlift of pilgrims from Nigeria to Israel.

The Minister informed that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is working towards improving the Aviation industry in Nigeria to make it locally relevant and globally more competitive.

He affirmed that the federal government would encourage investors in airport and airline industry and would develop the sector to make it more attractive.

Sen. Sirika further said that Nigeria is a multi religious society; therefore everything that would help to encourage religion would be done.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Rev. Tor Uja, appreciated the Minister for the cooperation he has so far demonstrated with the commission in the course of airlifting pilgrims to the Holy Land.

The NCPC boss requested the minister to waive some of the charges that are associated with the airlift of pilgrims by some relevant aviation agencies such as Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), which according to him, would help to reduce the cost of pilgrimage.
