ARTISANS , TRADERS‘ ASSOCIATIONS AND UNIONS VOW TO JOIN PROTEST AGAINST CBN GOVERNOR

A group of artisans have collectively vowed to join the protests called by the Coalition of Civil Society Groups, calling for the sack of CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele. The groups which included National Union of Transport Employers (NUTE), United Traders Association of Nigeria (UTAN), National Association of Artisans (NAA), made this position known at a Press Conference which held in Abuja.
Speaking on behalf of the groups, the convener, Chief Stanley Wani said that Mr. Emefiele “took Nigerians for a ride when he unilaterally and arbitrarily decided to embark on a needless and obviously poorly thought out Naira redesign policy that crippled many of our members’ businesses”. Chief Wani also went further to describe the call for protest by the Coalition of Civil Society Goups as “welcome development that all progress minded Nigerians should join massively”.
The association also supported the call for the CBN Governor Resign his position. The association’s said they will mobilize their members to ensure a successful protest alongside Civil Society that will shut down Nigeria, while calling on security agencies to do the needful to prevent Emefiele’s hirelings from hijacking the protests.
He also said their members and Nigerians will be more than happy to see the Governor have his day in court.
