Anti-Corruption: We Will Help Fight Corruption To Stabilise Nation’s Economy – Power Minister

Minister of State, Power, Mr Goddy Jedy Agba, has said the Federal Government will continue to support anti-corruption units and agencies in the country to hold public officers accountable.

Speaking at a strategic engagement of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s National Anti-Corruption Marathon Sports festival organized by sports anti-corruption unit, the minister declared that no meaningful economic development can be attained in a corrupt society.

In a press statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the minister’s special assistant on media Mr. Ofem Uket, he said the National anti-corruption marathon was a well thought out strategy to engage the youths in the fight against corruption.

The minister stated that the present administration is focused on developing and building capacity in strategic sectors of the economy to eradicate corrupt practices.

Earlier, The permanent Secretary of the ministry of power Nebolisa Anakor has urged Nigerian sports men and women to use sports to unite the country through great talents exibited in football, running and other notable games.

The National Cordinator of the National Anti-Corruption Marathon and leader of the delegation disclosed that the 2021 edition of the festival is dedicated to President Muhammadu Buhari to further strenghten the unity and peace in Nigeria.

According to him, the unit will continue to demonstrate preparedness to use sports to fight corruption in Nigeria.
