Worried over the state of collapsed industries across the country, 61 senators of the 8th Senate have sponsored a motion for the urgent resuscitation of the ailing Nigerian industries.
That was revealed on Tuesday, by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, via his Facebook post, after plenary on the flow of the red chamber.
Though the post did not name the major sponsors of the motion but he noted that the affected manufacturing subsector needs to be revived and sustain to help achieve a sound economy.
The post reads, “As part of the 8th Senate’s strides to develop our local economy, today, 61 Senators co-sponsored a motion to urgently seek the resuscitation of collapsed and ailing industries in Nigeria.
“We are all convinced that in order to achieve a sound economy, it is important and necessary that Nigeria’s ailing manufacturing entities be revived and sustained.
“In this regard, in its legislative capacity, the Senate will continue to work to create a more business-friendly environment that allows our local businesses to thrive and promote investor confidence.”
